Autumn 2008 Happenings

What’s New

Autumn Harvest Luncheon

For those who wish to celebrate the season, we are offering a bountiful Autumn Harvest Luncheon each day until November 23rd.  Available all day, this 3 course luncheon, served on our pretty fall leaf plates, is a delight for the senses— especially the taste buds!

Included are a cup of our soup of the day, scone with all the goodies, choice of entrée and petite desserts.  See our “Special Events” page for all the details

Brunch

Starting on August 1st, we began offering a European Inn style breakfast each morning.  Don’t expect eggs and pancakes cooked to order, but think of the hearty and delicious meal you might be served after spending the night in a quaint bed and breakfast in Switzerland.  Called the Morning Glory Tea, the full meal includes tea or coffee, an orange juice spritzer or sparkling cider, a yogurt sundae with a variety of toppings to select from, scones with all the goodies, your choice of our quiche of the day or a special Chef’s breakfast, and finally an assortment of brunch pastries and fresh fruit.  The quiche, chef’s special breakfast and a large yogurt sundae are available as entrées as well.  This special morning menu is available from 10:00-11:00 Wednesday through Saturday, and from 10-12:00 on Sundays.  Click here to see our new brunch menu.

Gift Shop

We have received a variety of new merchandise and have rearranged the shop to make room for the new offerings.  Of course fall home décor and tabletop items take center stage, but a lovely line of blue and white china is one of our current favorites, and a cute cake server that looks like a woman’s dress shoe (with removable magnetic heel!) is selling very well too.

Plan now for December Reservations

We have been taking group reservations for the month of December for some time now.  There are still plenty of openings, but we do book up during the Holidays, especially for parties larger than four.  We will be unable to take any parties larger than ten persons from December 6th through December 28th.  We will also be open on Tuesdays in December, except for the 23rd.  Our Victorian Christmas Tea will be back (with the sorbet served in a keepsake teacup ornament).  See our “Special Events” page for all the details.

When making reservations, please be prepared to select either brunch, lunch or high tea.  You may change your selection up to the day before your reservation, but due to the volume of customers we will be accommodating, we need to stagger teas and lunches and be sure we have enough food prepared.  Also, please note that on weekends, high tea will not be available until brunch service is over.  This means the first high tea reservation will be 11:20 on Saturdays, and 12:20 on Sundays, except for the Morning Glory Brunch Tea.  I know this sounds complicated, so call us and we’ll be happy to clarify things for you.

Sumner Happenings

Downtown Sumner is a fabulous day-outing with lots of great shops and antiques, as well as the beautiful and well-stocked Windmill Gardens Nursery.  Come to tea or lunch with us, then spend the afternoon exploring Sumner.  The Sumner Downtown Association plans lots of fun and sometimes very unique events throughout the year.  The upcoming Summer events are listed below, or click on the link to their website for a list of all events planned for this year.
