Plan for Re-opening

As we look forward to Covid becoming endemic (more predictable), we have begun planning how we will reopen our building for inside dining and shopping.   Our timeline is fluid, and will be based on how Covid responds to the mask mandate being lifted and new variants developing.

We have come to the realization that our pre-pandemic business model is not going to work in the post-pandemic world. Things have changed a lot in the last two costs, labor shortages, and health and safety practices, not to mention that we are older and have less desire to regularly work 16 hour days!

Please see the information below regarding the changes we will be implementing as we begin to move forward.

Outside Dining

We are continuing to offer Back Porch Pick and are hoping to have a few tables set up outside, by the middle of May, for folks to utilize when picking up their pre-ordered meals .

We will provide a self-service station with ice water and thermal carafes of hot water for tea, and will make picnic sets available for $2.50 per person, which include a hot beverage cup, a water cup, disposable cutlery and napkin.  Seating will be on first come basis, weather permitting.

Our back porch entrance to the building will be open for access to the restroom and a small gift area.  Masks will be required inside the building.

Inside Dining

We are re-arranging our dining areas to create more distance between tables and will eventually be open for inside dining, by reservation only, from Friday - Sunday.

Our current best guess for opening our dining rooms is sometime in July.  The first month or so will be for those folks who have kept us in business by supporting us during the Covid closure.  Masks will be required in our building, other than while actively eating.

(Once we are open inside, we will continue to offer our Back Porch Pick Up Menu on Wednesdays and Thursdays only, with tables available outside, weather permitting.)

Our menu for inside dining will include only a single multi-course afternoon tea service.  The set menu will change seasonally and include several themed tea parties throughout the year. Price for each tea will be determined when the menu is announced.

You will prepay for your party at the time of making the reservation.  Cancellations will be refunded with 24 hours advance notice, and store credit will be given with same day notice by 10:00am.

For less expensive options, the Back Porch Pick Up Menu, available Wednesdays and Thursdays, will continue offering the Larkspur and Hollyhock tea sets as well as other preset meals.

Small Details

Inside dining reservations will include a service charge, so that we can equitably compensate our entire staff.  No further gratuity is required.

Large Parties

The largest party we will be able to accommodate is 10.

Due to the food service labor shortage, we will not be offering gluten-free tea sets until further notice.

Other Allergies

We may be able to accommodate other food allergies, with notice when making your reservation.
